Request For Anon –

ok so this is a little angsty but could you do one where you’re in a relationship with opie and it’s the year anniversary of donna’s death and you’re comforting op and his kids and he tells you he loves you for the first time

Warnings: Kinda angsty at times obviously…

Relationships are challenging enough when there isn’t history, when there isn’t baggage. When your partner has suffered a loss, like Opie had, it makes things challenging at times. Your relationship was still fresh, you had barely been together two months when the anniversary of Donna’s death rolled around. Having lost your own father at young age, he was an early member of SAMCRO, you knew that the kids were going to take the day very hard on the outside and Opie was going to suffer in silence.

There was no way that you were going to make them forget what happened, they never would, but you wanted to try and remind them not to mourn her death but to celebrate her life. You packed up your three year old little girl, Rosie, and brought her over to Op’s house early in the morning. She was still in her footy pj’s as you stood outside his front door waiting for him to get out of bed. ”Rosie girl… didn’t I text him that we were coming” You asked your little girl who stood next to you, her hand clutching your sweat pants as you held a box of doughnuts with two coffees balanced on top growing nervous that Opie wasn’t going to answer the door.

Just before you were about to tell Rosie to ring the door bell again Op opened the door as he let out a yawn rubbing the sleep from his eyes. “Hey babe…” he greeted sleepily before looking down at Rosie and giving her a soft smile and tussling her already messy hair. “You still tired sweetheart?” Rosie gave a big yawn and nod and Op leaned down and picked her up. “Come on, I’ll go stick ya on Ellie’s top bunk and you can go back to sleep for a bit.” Rosie nodded as she leaned her head against Opie’s shoulder and he placed a protective hand on head as you walked in and closed the door behind yourself.

“Wait for Op or me to help you down bug, okay? Last time we got lucky you didn’t break your neck.” You warn as you walk towards the kitchen as Opie walks towards his daughter’s bedroom. He treated Rosie like one of his own from the moment you two got together. Your ex-husband was in jail for the foreseeable future and you had taken measures to make sure he would never be part of your daughter’s life again. At first you felt bad because she would grow up without a father, but then Opie came back into your life and you could have never asked for a better father for your daughter.

Sitting down at the kitchen table you took your coffee and took a sip, as Op walked into the kitchen. He slowly made his way over to you, his large hand reaching out and brushing the bare skin of your forearm as he leaned in and kissed the top of your head. “You didn’t have to do this…” He said softly trying not to make any more noise than possible so the kids slept in as long as possible.

You shrugged and handed him his coffee. “When you said you were keeping the kids home today, I just wanted to be here.” Your voice was soft and you let out a small sigh before you took another sip of your coffee. Your eyes fixed on the table. “I’ve been there and you’re real good to me and Rosie.” As you lifted your eyes Op gave you a soft smile as he reached out and placed his hand over yours.

“(y/n) thank you, the kids will be excited for the doughnuts.” He smiled softly and took a sip of his coffee. “You remembered…” He commented about how you actually remember how he took his coffee after screwing it on more than one occasion.

You smiled brightly as your hands cupped the cardboard cup as you leaned forward slightly on the table. “Well, I may be a slow learner but I learn.” You said with a soft giggle and Op almost choked on his coffee as he laughed before taking a long deep breath and leaned back in his chair smiling brightly for a few moments before the smile slowly started to fade away. “Op..” You say in a gentle, soft voice leaning forward and touching his arm.

“I still feel guilty,” He started as he shifted in his chair as if he was uncomfortable but you knew it was more than just physical discomfort. “We sit here, like our life is just this normal thing… and it’s not.” Opie’s voice shook a little as he spoke, without thinking you stood from your chair and walked over to Op.

He scooted the chair he was sitting in back and turned to face you. Opie stretched his arms out and wrapped his arms around your waist. “You have nothing to feel guilty for babe, nothing…” You reassured him as you traced your finger tips across the large tattoo of his Path peaking out from his white tank top.

Op looked up and shook his head. “What we do… you know what we do…” He said almost helplessly. While you knew little of the actual details of the extent of the violence and organized crime that the Sons and Opie were involved with, but you knew enough. Your father was one of the original Men of Mayhem and his loyalty the club had gotten him killed. That fear of history repeating itself was on the fears you had getting into a relationship with Opie in the first place. Op was different though, he wasn’t like your father and enjoyed the violence, he wanted the Sons to be something different. So did Jax.

Taking a deep breath you slide your hand down his back as you lean down and place a kiss on the top of his head before you smiled softly. “But you and Jax are gonna change that aren’t you?” You remind him as you reached up and caressed his cheek before continuing. “Rosie’s dad wasn’t a Son… and look what happened with him.” You point out reminding him of a story he knew all too well but needed to hear again. “When he got arrested… his crew… his boys… did shit for me and Rosie.” Opie groaned slightly, he was never fond of your ex from the time you all were in high school, but you shook your head and patted his cheek. “Who was there for me?” You asked gazing down at him.

Op took a deep breath and looked up at you, “SAMCRO…” He answered and you gave him a quick nod as you took his face in your hands.

“As soon as Gemma heard that Colin got busted, she drove out to Stockton and just showed up at my apartment. Told me to pack mine and Rosie’s stuff because she was taking me home. That I had wasn’t alone… that I still had family.” Gemma was your late mother’s best friend and in many ways like your second mother. She got Tara to help get you a job as Nurse at St. Thomas, got Clay and the boys to set you and Rosie up in your apartment and paid for the lawyer that helped you gain full custody of your daughter. “Without the Sons where would I be? Where would you be?”

Opie’s face grew dark and there was a deep anger in his eyes as your hands slipped away from his face as you took a little step back. “My kids would still have their mother…” His voice was filled with bitterness and sadness. You let out a long heavy sigh as you reach for your coffee unable to find words because what he said was true. I would probably still have mom…and dad… Your mind went to a dark place for a moment as you took a sip of your drink. “I can’t change things, I know that but I don’t want the kids to go through anything like that again…” He reached out and picked up his coffee before standing up.

He took a few steps towards you and kissed your cheek. “I’m going to get dressed.” This was his way of ending and uncomfortable conversation. You give him a little nod and set your cup of coffee back on the kitchen table.

“I’m gonna go check on Rosie…” You gave him a little smile as you both walked through the living room and down the hall, him turning into the master bedroom and you slipping into Ellie’s room.

The week before Opie had gotten Ellie a bunk bed, so that when you spent the night with Rosie, your little girl had a place to call her own in his home. Rosie was curled up clutching a teddy bear fast asleep on the top bunk but Opie’s daughter was awake and softly crying as she tried to hide her face under the blanket. “Sweetheart…” You said softly noticing her sobs as you made your way towards the bunk bed. Sitting down on the edge of the bed you placed your hand on her back and started to gently rub her back trying to sooth the young girl. “Hey, it’s okay to be sad…”

Ellie looked up at you as she pulled down the blanket from her face. “But Grandma said that…” She started but you shook your head.

“Listen, your grandma is a decent enough lady… but she doesn’t know everything.” You tried your best to think of something your mother would have said to you as a child. You weren’t much older than Ellie when your father was killed in a bike wreck and you took his death extremely hard. As the words came to you, you took a deep breath and leaned in. “We only get one mom, one dad… that’s it… and you had a really awesome mom.” You smiled thinking of your friend. “Did you know we were friends, your mom and I?” Ellie shook her head. “Yup… I was in the grade bellow your mom and dad at school. But your mom and I had art and Spanish together, from my freshman year till she graduated.”

Ellie’s tears slowly stopped as she sat up in bed waiting to hear more about your time with her mother. You gave her a soft smile and patted her cheek. “Why don’t you go to the bathroom, then meet me in the kitchen and I’ll tell you more about what your mom was like in high school. So we don’t wake Rosie…” Ellie nodded and gave you a little smile. You leaned in and gave her a peck on the cheek before standing up.

As you stood up you noticed Opie standing in the doorway, leaning against the frame, with a soft smile from watching the interaction between you and his daughter. You walked over to him and playfully shoved him. “Hey…” Op said with a little chuckle as he moved out of the way.

“Well don’t just block the doorway… I need my coffee and little one needs to use the bathroom…” You said with a little chuckle as you move out of the way so Ellie could walk through.

“Good Morning sweetheart…” Opie greeted his daughter as she walked past pulling her into a quick tight hug before letting her walk past him and down the hall. As you started to walk back towards the kitchen, Opie stopped you. Wrapping his arms around you he smiled softly as struggled against him a little because you wanted to get back to your coffee and maybe snag one of the doughnuts before the three children and Opie got into the box.

You laugh softly as you try to break free from his strong arms but each time you pushed back he just pulled you tighter. “Opie… Come on…” You groan with a little laugh.

“I am so lucky  to have you, the kids are so lucky…” He said softly before leaning down and kissing your lips softly as his hand smoothed your hair down before he broke the kiss. “You did bring clothes for you and Rosie?” He asked with a little chuckle.

You nod as you final are able to move from his tender grasp as you start to walk towards the kitchen. “In my car, if you want to..” You started as you trail down the hall Opie following behind you, his hands out stretched reaching for your hips. His fingers brushing against the small line of bare skin between where your sweatpants hit your hips and where your t-shirt had settled.

“On my way…” He replied with a little chuckle as his hands slipped away from your hips as he turned and walk towards the door. He returned in a few minutes with your duffel bag and chiding you for not locking your car.

Ellie soon joined you in the kitchen, Kenny following soon after. Both surprised by the treat and the fact you were there to greet them. By the time Rosie got up nearly all the doughnuts were gone but the kids seem excited by the prospect of a busy day and a busy day was what you managed to deliver. Even though you had spent most of your modest pay check to make it happen, you kept the kids distracted while Opie had handle some sudden club business. You shared fond stories of Donna from your teenage years before you left Charming and they both seemed happy for some new memories of sort of their mother.

Dinner was a quite affair, you wanted to make sure everyone was back at the house to sit and have a meal together at the end of the day. There was little talk during the simple meal but it was one you shared together. The rest of the evening was quite, one of the simplest you had ever shared with Opie and his children.

As the hour grew late, the older kids went back to their rooms for the night and Rosie was snuggled under Opie’s arm, her head resting on his chest as she slept peacefully in his arms. You were perched on the arm of the sofa, trying your hands from the last round of dishes from dinner with a smile playing on your lips. Opie was flipping through the guide mindlessly trying to find something besides the children’s show that was currently on the screen. “I pay for how many fucking channels..” He grumbles softly before turning off the TV and leaning back on the couch.

“Well, it’s like 10 at night, it’s all late night talk shows and cartoons for grown ups…” You said with a soft chuckle as you slid down and joined him on the couch, laying the hand towel across your lap. Opie let out as small chuckle as he shifted Rosie slightly so she wasn’t laying in a uncomfortable position.

He let out a small chuckle before he glanced over and you and asked, “So should I put her in bed or in the car?” His voice was soft, conscious of the sleeping toddler at his side. You shrugged, you had planned on spending the night. Perhaps even the weekend, but you were never the one who asked to spend the night. You always waited for Opie to ask you.

Letting out a long, heavy sigh you thought hard about the words that were about to come out of your mouth before they did. “It’s up to you, I know you may…” You couldn’t even get those well thought out words before Opie answered your question for you.

“Stay..” He said in a soft yet almost desperate voice. You just gave him a quick little nod and smile and he needed no more of an answer. He slowly got up, lifting Rosie up to his shoulder as he stood. Her little hand reached up and her chubby little fingers tangled in his beard as she stirred slightly in his arm.

Her eyes fluttered open for a second and in a sleepy haze as smiled softly and murmured. “Daddy…” her voice more than a whisper but you could hear so you know Opie did. He stayed still for a moment, shifting her in his arms slightly as he leaned down and kissed the top of her head.

“I got you baby…” He said softly against her dark curls as he closed his eyes for a moment and took a deep breath. “Daddy’s got you…” He whispered once more as he walked past you a smirk playing on your lips as your hand quickly went to your mouth as you fought the urge to cry.

As you took a deep breath, you stood back up and shook you hands nervously as to did you best to calm your wave of emotions. Rosie had never called her own father Daddy, she was just a new born when everything went down with her father. She was just talking in her sleep, it meant nothing.. You tried to rationalize though you know that even in her sleep that Opie wouldn’t have said it back to her if he didn’t care about your daughter. About you. You take another deep breath as you sink back down on the couch as you hear the creak of the girls’ bedroom door.

As Opie walks into the living room he as a little smirk playing on his lips. He stops at the end of the couch, “Ellie was still awake, she wanted Rosie to sleep on the bottom bunk with her…” His voice was so full of pride as he spoke. “Rosie curled up right next to her, it’s not how I was expecting the night to end…” He sat down next to you, his arm draping over your shoulder. You leaned in, resting your head against his chest.

“Well I told you I was going to try and make things easier for the kids today…” You noted and Opie nodded. His fingers tracing small circles on the bare skin of your arm as you gazed up at him. You eyes locked on his.

“You did babe… you did..” He murmured softly as he leaned in and kissed you tenderly. His soft beard ticking your cheeks making you giggle softly as he deepened the kiss by slipping his hand around you head, his fingers tangling in your hair. As he pulls away he lets out a surprisingly happy sigh given what the day was as he settled back on the couch. “You know what scares me the most, (y/n)?” he asked in a low tone.

You shook you head as the word “no” slowly slipped from your lips as you placed you hand once more on his chest, turning a little on the couch. Your thigh pressed against his as Opie took a long deep breath.

“I am afraid that I have this real second chance at having a family, and it could all fall apart with one bad play, one bad move.” He closed his eyes for a moment as he collected his thoughts. You take in a long sharp breath as you listen, “I lost one woman I loved, my kids lost one mother…” With each word his voice shook with sadness and fear. “If my kids… and that includes Rosie because I love that baby like she is my own flesh and blood… lose another mother…” As he spoke the gravity of meaning behind his words started to sink in as smile spread across your face, your eyes lit up though there was a stray tear or two rolling down each cheek.

“Op..” You started softly. Your hand moving from his chest to his cheek. “I ain’t going any place… I got you babe… always.” Your voice was filled love and compassion as you spoke. Your thumb wiping away the stay tears that rolled down his cheek. “You’re my guy, them kids… all three of them… are my babies and I would do whatever it took to protect our little family Opie…”

Opie smiled at you bright as he cupped your face with both his hands as he leaned in and rested his forehead against yours. “I know.” He whispered softly. “That’s why I love you so fucking much…” He said his voice full of passion and genuine love. His lips captured yours as he pushed you back into the corner of the couch, as you let a giggle your lips still locked on his.

You push him off you slightly, his weight heavy on your smaller frame. “I love you, too..” you said softly taking his hand as you leaned in a whispered, “Let’s go to bed baby…”

Saving Grace – SOA – Jax/Reader

Summary:

You are Clay’s daughter and after a secret affair you end up giving birth to a little girl named Grace, who was born with “Teller Curse” Gemma puts two and two together and soon Jax learns he has a daughter… a very sick daughter.

One-Shot

Notes:

Ohai, so some Jax Teller X Clay’s daughter Reader stuff… I actually wrote a rough version of this almost 5 years ago while my son was actually in the NICU that I found in a notebook shortly before I wrote that HC. I guess I wrote it process some emotions I was having with my own son’s health issues and it helped in a strange little way. I expanded it a lot and it turned into not a completely horrible little one shot. Who knows I may go back and tinker with it some more one day

The hospital room was cold and had that sterile smell that had always turned your stomach. As soon as your daughter was born the nurses and doctors had rushed her away in a frenzy of commotion. Your heart sank as you realized what it meant, ‘the Teller Curse…’  you thought long before the doctor came in to tell you what was going with the little girl that you named Grace.

Gemma had been there since you returned to the room after your c-section, waiting to see her newest “grandbaby”, little did she know how true that was. “How long does it take to clean her up?” Gemma said as she shifted yet again the chair the was next to the bed.

“I don’t know,” You said softly worrying what you feared was actually true. There was a knock on the door before the doctor entered. Gemma sat straight up in her chair and reached over and took your hand knowing it was never good when the doctor came in before the baby.

“Miss Morrow,” The middle age man start as he cleared his throat. “Your daughter was born with a congenital heart defect, it’s not an uncommon occurrence but the specific type she of heart defect she had tends to be genetic, is there any history of this type of thing happening in your family… or perhaps the father’s?” Your heart raced within your chest, your worse fear had happened. Gemma squeezed your hand and look at you with a heavy questioning gaze.

“I don’t know… I can’t remember..” You stammer and look towards Gemma who lets out a heavy sigh.

“Your daughter is not doing well Miss Morrow, we could really use any information you could possibly give us about the medical history on both side of the family.” You look towards Gemma helplessly.

“Her mother died when she was very young, she was a junkie… Her father is out of town on business but is on his way back. We are working on trying to track down the father…” Gemma smiled as she stood up and took a few step towards the doctor. “Maybe my granddaughter would be improving more if her doctor was there attending to her care… it’s gonna be a little bit before we can get all the information that you need.” The doctor took the hint and left leaving you and Gemma alone with a mammoth sized elephant in the room.

Once the doctor left the older woman turned around, arms crossed in front of her chest. “(y/n)…” She starts as she walks quickly over to you and sits down on the hospital bed next to you. “this is the Teller curse… how does my husband’s granddaughter who is not a Teller end up being born with the same genetic heart defect as my grandson and both my sons.” Her voice was a shaking, she was scared for the baby, heartbroken for you, and so angry that you and Jax were once again sneaking around behind everyone’s backs.

She leaned forward and clutched your other hand so she was holding both of your hands. “I know you and Jax had feelings years ago, I don’t understand why and I probably will never. You two were raised like siblings…” She took a deep breath trying to focus herself once more what was important now, your daughter. “If Jax is this baby’s father please just tell me, tell the doctors… we worry about the rest of the world later but they need to know.”

Tears started to roll down her cheeks, “Yes..” you say softly. “Jax is her father… he ended it before I found out I was pregnant.” Your bottom lip quivered as you started to sob. “I didn’t tell…” You wailed and Gemma wrapped her arms tight around you.

“Oh baby…” She said softly, kissing the side of your head. She let you cry for sometime before finally asking you “What’s my granddaughter’s name?” trying to get you to think of something besides all the worse case scenarios running through your mind.

“Grace… Gracie…” It was your mother’s name, you could see the look on Gemma’s face grow sad for a moment.

“It’s a good name…” She says muster a little smile before she eases you back against the pillows on the bed. “I am going to go see if they will let me go take a peak at our little angel, you rest. “ You give a little nod and lay back closing your eyes exhausted from your ordeal.

Gemma stays till she knows you are asleep and then steps out into the hall to make a phone call, to her son. The phone rings a few time and then he answers. “Hey Ma,”

“Hey sweetheart,” She started, she wasn’t going to tell him about the baby over the phone, but she needed him to get to the hospital to talk with you. “(y/n) had the baby, the piece of shit who got her pregnant never showed up and she’s all sorts of shook up… she could use a visit and I gotta leave soon.”

“Yeah, let me just finish up here and I’ll come round to St. Thomas’s soon.” Gemma gave a satisfied smile before she said her goodbye to her soon and went to go check in on her newest grandchild. They wouldn’t let her in as Grace still wasn’t stable enough for any visitors even when she insisted she was the child’s grandmother.

She sat outside your room letting you rest while she waited for Jax. True to his word, less than 20 minutes after he got off the phone with his mother did he appear in the hallway walking towards his mother. “Hey mom…” He greeted his mother with a kiss on the cheek.

Gemma patted her son on the shoulder and smiled softly. “Congratulations Jackson, it’s a girl..” she said softly as she watched a puzzled expression cross his face, no surprise. She chuckled. “Go talk your daughter’s mother…” Gemma walked off towards the NICU to wait to see baby Grace.

Jax ran his hands through his hair as he quickly walked into your room. He saw you laying asleep in bed and he let out a heavy sigh. He slowly walked towards the bed and sat down next to you, He pushed a few stray strands of your hair off your cheek causing you to stir. At first when you saw Jax sitting there you thought you were still dreaming. “Jax..” You say softly.

“Hey darlin’,” he voice was soft but you could tell he was upset. “Why didn’t you ever tell me?” He asked  in a hushed tone.

“I’m sorry…” You apologize and Jax just shakes his head and wraps his arms around you .

“Don’t be baby… don’t” He leaned forward and kissed you softly. It was the first time in almost a year that you felt his lips on yours. You take a deep breath as you both break the kiss. Jax’s eyes went to the floor. “How did my mom figure out she was mine?” He asked weakly wondering where the baby was.

You take a deep breath and reach out touching his shoulder. “She has the heart defect… she’s not doing well…” Your voice cracks as you speak. You watched Jax looks up at you and as soon as you saw his face. The expression of pain and heartbreak that you had seen once and only once before, when Abel was born.

“No..” He groaned softly. The tears started to roll down your cheeks as you tried to lean forward to comfort him but you winced in pain. Jax turned towards you more and placed a hand on your thigh. “Don’t push yourself…” He said softly.

“The doctors needed medical histories, your mom was here…” Jax gave a little and you let out a long breath and closed your eyes. “I am so scared Jax… I can’t lose her.”

“We are not losing our daughter…” He leans forward and places a hand on your cheek. “She’s a Teller, we are tough, stubborn and hard to kill…” He was doing his best to cheer you up despite being terrified himself. He took his hand and placed it over yours. “So does my daughter have a name?”

You nod. “Grace.” Jax smiled remembering it was your mother’s name. “Dad is gonna hate it.”

“It’s a good name, and fuck your dad…” You chuckle at his words. “I’m gonna take care of her, I promise… no matter what.” He squeezed your hand and you just nodded knowing what he said was true. You reached up and touched his face.

“I haven’t seen her yet…” You say softly, “They rushed her off so quickly.” Jax let out a heavy sigh and he leaned forward and kissed your forehead.

“I’m going to go see about seeing our girl…” He stood up and walked out to the nurses station. He didn’t explain who he was, only that you hadn’t seen your baby yet. The nurse called down to the NICU and they said the parents could come see her but she wasn’t stable enough for any other visitors. He returned with a wheelchair and a smile on his face.

“We can go see her?” You ask suddenly feeling like you had all the energy in the world. Jax smiled and nodded his head as he pushed the wheelchair over next to bed.

“Yup..” He pulled the blankets off you and looked around for your slippers. “Slippers?” He asked and you point to the black duffle bag sitting on the couch in the room. Jax quickly went over and dug through your bag till he found your slippers and he grabbed an old, well warn, black hoodie out of your bag as well. He recognized it as one his and he just laughed. “You still have this…”

“It was the hoodie you gave me when I went to collage.” You say as he helps you put it on over your hospital gown before he tosses the slippers to the floor and takes your hand helping you steady yourself as you slip on the fuzzy black slippers. You wince as you turn trying to get into the wheelchair. “She was breach, they had to do a c-section..” You note and Jax nods.

“It was probably better for her in the long run darlin’” You sit down and Jax begins pushing you down the same halls he had pushed Wendy down just two years earlier when he went to take her to see Abel for the first time. The memories flooded back as he rounded the corner and saw your daughter was in the same room Abel had been in when he spent his time in the NICU.

She was so much bigger than Abel was but so much else was the same. The little plastic box that kept her warm, the little hat they had put on head. As you peer through the window at your sweet little baby your heart sinks. There is a pain that spreads through out your chest like your cant breath. “My poor Gracie..” You ball as you put your hand to the window. Jax looks down at your with heart break in his eyes.

He never wanted to go through this pain again and you were the last person in the world that he wanted to put through that same pain. When Thomas had been born just a few weeks earlier, healthy, it brought so much joy to Jax’s heart. Now your Grace, the daughter he never knew he wanted was fighting for her life because of him. Some blame for Abel’s health issues as baby could easily placed on Wendy’s shoulders, but Grace’s… he knew they were all on him. It’s punishment. He thought as his hand gripped your shoulder as he looked helplessly down at the little girl who looked so much like her brothers there was no mistaking she was a Teller. For all this shit, the lies, the murder. He looked down at your for a moment. “You know she is gonna be fine darlin’, this was Abel’s room..” He said trying to muster a smile for you. “It has to me some kind of sign or some shit right?” He kissed the top of your head as he pushed you into the room.

The young nurse smiled softly up at you both. “Are you mom and dad?” She asked sweetly.

“Yeah,” Jax said softly, his words make you smile.

“Well, you two have one feisty little lady on your hands.” She said trying very hard to make the best of what is a had moment. All you want to do is hold her, kiss her little nose and promise her the world but you knew you couldn’t. “It took the doctors and the respiratory techs quite a bit of time to get her to a point that she was comfortable and not working too hard to breathe which is why she is on the vent right now. Without it we couldn’t keep her heart rate with in a safe range while the doctors run the tests.” Her tone was soft, yet serious as she spoke and you just gave a little nod not really taking in all the information as you were fixated on your newborn’s tiny little hand with long dainty fingers. “Other than that, she is actually doing quite well now that we have her settled. It’s still a long road ahead..”

“I know,” Jax said softly. “I was born with the same condition, so was my younger brother and my oldest son.” Jax leaned and kissed the back of your head. “Teller’s are tough though…”

“Does she have a name?” The nurse asked softly.

“Gracie Rose…” You start softly.

“Grace Rose Teller..” Jax said with a small smile to the nurse who wrote it down on some paper work.

“Very pretty..” She said before turning back around to you and Jax. “She isn’t strong enough for you to hold her yet, but you can hold her hand if you want.” You nod quickly the nurse shows you how properly wash your hands before you slide your hand through the oval hole and instantly Grace’s fingers wrap around your pinkie.

“Mommy’s  here baby.. don’t you worry.” You say softly. “Just rest baby, just rest.”  Your voice shook as your little girls squeezed your finger tightly making both you and Jax smile.

“You got this Gracie…” and she did.

While Grace fought for her life, her father fought to keep both of his families intact but he knew that wasn’t going to happen. He tried to make things right with Tara but they never were again. Jax loved your daughter as much and maybe a little more than the boys in some way but you knew that in her own way her life had caused more upheaval and chaos in Jax’s already chaotic life. You knew no matter what things were never going to be the same.

i got a cute idea, how about soa imagine with juice. you’ve lived and grew up in charming your whole life (you’re a daughter of another first nine) and opie and jax are your e best friends having grew up together and then you start going out with juice and they find out

Being the daughter of Piney… the little sister of Opie, your life had been so entangled with the Sons since you were a little girl. If you weren’t home helping your father, you were more than often found at Jax’s house. When you were a little girl, you were just another playmate but as the boys got older it was made clear to you that they were headed down a different path. So you began spending more and more time with Gemma, helping out at the shop and you were one of the regular girls who cooked dinner for visiting nomads and were in charge keeping things half way decent in the club house.

A little over a month before that bright, sunny Charming morning, Juice had asked you out to the movies when he found out you were a secret science fiction fan like he was after a light hearted conversation one afternoon while he worked on some club business and you cleaned up around the bar. Things just grew naturally from there. He was a patched member of the club, he had proven himself to the club. To you, you saw nothing wrong with the relationship.

Neither of you though were jumping to tell you father or Opie. They both were protective of you, always had been, but more so since everything happened with Donna. Piney had on more than occasion expressed a wish for you to marry outside of the club but it wasn’t going to happen. Defiantly not now.

This morning was a typical quite Saturday at the club house. The only thing that was different was Juice was sitting at one of the tables working on gathering information on some guy trying to distract you while you stood behind the bar washing glasses. “Babe…” He said with a little smirk playing on his lips as peered over the screen.

“Yes…” You respond, drawing out the word in a sing song voice as you lift your hands from the warm soapy water.

Juice smirks as he leans back, tilting the chair up on it’s back two legs. “Can you bring me a beer?” She said with wide smirk that caused you to roll your eyes and glance at the clock. “Please… Baby girl…” You let out a little groan as you dried your hands off and walked over to the fridge and pulled out a light beer. Walking over to the table you slid the beer across the smooth wooden surface with a small chuckle. “It’s 11 o’clock Juan…” You point out as he picks the beer up and opens it with a disapproving glare.

“It’s a thinking beer…” He teased as he took a swig before placing it down on the table and motioned for you to come over to him. You shrug and roll your eyes but walk around the table and couldn’t help but smile softly as his long fingers reach out and gripped your hip as he pulled you closer. “Thank you…” He said softly in a sweet voice that you could resist.

As you heard the door to the club house open in the distance you leaned down and placed a sweet kiss on Juice’s lips as he playfully smacked your ass at the worse possible moment. “What the Fuck?” You heard your brother’s voice call out from behind you. Instantly your cheeks flushed crimson and your heart pounded as you stared at Juice wide eyed. Juice was frozen his hand other hand still gripping your ass tightly before you swat his hands away and turn around to see not only your brother standing there, but Jax as well.

“Shit” You curse softly looking at the floor. You knew it was only a matter of time before everyone started to find out about you and Juice but just walking in on that scene was far from how you pictured letting everyone know.

“Shit it right (y/n)” Jax said trying to hide the fact that he found all this rather amusing. Your gaze moves to your brother who is standing with his arms crossed in front of his chest shaking his head. You wanted to say something but you lifetime of experience dealing with those two boys told you it was best to just keep your mouth shut and get out of the way.

Swallowing hard you move behind Juice, placing your hand on his shoulder. Though he was obviously nervous Juice tried to be his normal jovial self. “Hey guys… come on… aren’t we friends…” He laughs nervously as he shifts in his chair. Jax shot Juice questioning glance as Opie too a step forward and leaned at the opposite end of the table.

“We are friends… and friends don’t just date each other’s sisters without at least asking?” You were slightly offended at your brother’s words, I am not some property, some fucking commodity to traded you thought angrily as you pursed your lips and gripped Juice’s shoulder tighter, urging him to defend you.

He took a nervous breath before leaning forward slightly. “Well, she is an adult, she doesn’t need anyone’s permission to date…” There was a swell of pride in your soul the at Juice defending you and your relationship.

Jax leaned over and whispered something in Opie’s ear quickly before he switched places and was now the one leaning over the edge of the table. “That may be… and I’ll give you that, (y/n) she can make good decisions but you Juice… you have done some questionable fucking things in the past brother.” What Jax was pointing out was not wrong, Juice had a reputation that he had earned and some of it you had even witnessed but he was different with you. He was sweet and goofy. But most of he made you smile.

You hand squeezed his shoulder once more, urging him to keep going. Part of you almost wondered if this was some sort of test. Juice took another deep breath and closed his laptop so there was no longer that barrier between them. “Listen, what I did in the past isn’t what I am going to do in the future.” Juice’s voice was filled with honest intentions. He really did want this relationship to work. He knew what being in a relationship with one of the daughters of the First Nine meant in SAMCRO but even beyond that. He cared deeply for you. “I really like (y/n) ” Juice glanced back at you and smiled softly. Turning back to Opie and Jax who were now both standing at the end of the table, arms crossed in front of their chests. Their stern faces softening slightly as Juice spoke. “We have been going out about a month right?” Juice asked softly.

“About.” You respond back as you glance up at your brother who let out a little sigh. “Op… Jax…” You start as you step away from Juice and stand between the men. “He may be stupid sometimes but at his core, Juice isn’t the worst guy I could be with. He is sweet to me and he makes me happy. Like… really happy Op.” You said singling your brother out because you knew that of the pair of them, Opie was the one that you were going to have to have in your corner when it came to telling your father about the relationship.

Opie let out another sigh before leaning in and whispering something that you couldn’t make out to Jax before he turned back to Juice. “You hurt my sister… physically… emotionally… I am gonna make sure you can never use your fucking dick again. You understand me… Juan…” Opie said making a point say Juice’s actual name to make sure he was serious.

Jax stepped forward, “Also, if you knock her up… you are going to take care of kids right…”

Juice nodded quickly and stood up from the chair. “Yeah… thank you for not kicking the shit out of me.” Juice said with a little laugh and the rest of your joined in. Opie was the first to go over and give Juice a hug. Jax then did the same.

“I love my little sister… she was Donna’s rock while I was locked up.” Your brother started as he draped his arm over your shoulder pulling you into him as he continued. “She has been my rock since everything happened, she takes care of my kids when I can’t or Dad is too sick.” Opie leaned in and kissed the side of your head. “My baby sister deserves the fucking world.”

“That she does.” Jax said as he sat down on the edge of the table as he pulled his smokes out of his pocket and lit a cigarette. “She is the closest thing I have ever had to a sister… just remember that Juice…” Jax patted Juice on the cheek as he stood up. “Gotta go talk to Mom…” he said before walking back out towards the shop leaving just you, Juice and Opie left in the club house for the moment.

You glanced up at your brother and gave him a soft smile as you asked. “So you are okay with this?” Opie gave a little nod. Juice gave a sigh of relief and you stood up on your tip toes to give Opie a kiss on the cheek before you walked over to Juice and wrapped your arms around his waist as he pulled you into a hug. As you rested your head against his chest you smirked. “Well… at least now we have Op in our corner when we go talk to my dad..” Juice let out a nervous laugh and held you tighter.

“Whatever we gotta do baby… you’re my girl… and that ain’t gonna change.”

It’s a date – Part 1 of 2
Hux/Reader – meet cute moment/first date
Summary  – Millicent gets out of Hux’s room and makes her way to your station and you decide it might be best to return the General’s cat.
A/N – This ended up being a little longer than I planned so I split it into two parts
AO3 LINK
Joining the First Order wasn’t your dream, but when they come to your planet and ask for loyalty you either bend the knee willingly or they take your children. You knew it was better than not to join them and just keep your head down. Which is what you did.

You work as clerk one of the lead ships of the fleet, the Finalizer under the command of the young General named Armitage Hux, who you had never seen but had heard the stories of his cruel nature from some of your co-workers but had never witnessed it first hand. As you went about your work on rather ordinary day, just entering data and monitoring communications, nothing exciting in the least. You felt something warm and fuzzy rub against your legs under your desk. You paused your work and peered under your desk to find a fluffy, well groomed orange tabby cat with a velvet collar with a small bell around it’s neck. “Well aren’t you just the most precious creature I have seen in ages… what in the Maker’s name are you doing on this ship?” You laugh softly as you lean down and pick the cat up.
The name engraved on a little silver disk was “Millicent” and she seemed like a very friendly and sweet animal. As soon as you picked her up Millicent started to purr and nussle her head against your arm. You had a cat as a child. You missed your childhood pet and from the looks of how well cared for Millicent was, you knew she was also very likely missed greatly. “Well Miss. Millicent… I don’t have a problem hanging with me but I think we have to find your people… “ You utter to the animal in a hushed tone as she curls up in your lap and you lean forward and begin to compose a ship wide communication.
Subject: Anyone missing a cat?
I found, or rather she found me, a sweet little orange tabby, with a black collar. The name on the collar is Millicent. She must have wandered into my office at some point in the last hour or so.
If this sounds like your cat, please get back to me so I can return her home safely.
Ensign (y/l/n)
PS. she is like totally fine… just hanging out in my lap while I do work. She is so fluffy I could just die!
You sent the com and went back about your work. Not really thinking too much of who the cat belonged to. You figured it was on of the girls who worked in the medbays you never expected to see the name that popped up on a new com that just came into your mailbox.
New Message From General A. Hux
“No…” You said looking down at Millicent. “You are not the General’s cat… please tell me you are not his cat.” Millicent looked up at you and let out a large yawn as she started to knead her paws into your lap before laying her head down on her paws. You opened the message as you took a deep steadying breath.
Subject – Found Cat
Engin (y/l/n),
I believe you have my cat. If you could please bring her to my office at your earliest convenience I would appreciate it greatly.
General A. Hux
PS. – So fluffy you could die? I am assuming you are fond of her?
Almost instantly you clasp your hand over your mouth when you realized you were going to have to take Millicent back to him and had sent such a ridiculous message in the first place. You should have been more professional but you let that part of you that was still an excited child at the sight of stray cat, take hold.
Quickly you compose a far more professional reply.
Subject – Found Cat
General Hux,
Please forgive the very casual nature of my original message Sir. I did not think this was your cat and was unaware you were included in mass messages of the sort. I will bring your cat to you right away Sir.
Also, yes I am fond of her… she is a very sweet animal and I had cats growing up. I miss them.
Sincerely,
Engin (y/l/n)
You hit send and before you had a chance to collect yourself and steady your nerves Hux had replied to your last message. “Oh lord…” You mumble as you lean forward to open and read his response.
Subject – Found Cat
I am glad that you and Millicent are getting along. She actually, tends not like most people. I have to take care of a few pressing matters on the bridge, would it at all be possible for you to bring her to my quarters in 1 hour. If your supervisor has issue with you leaving your post, please just send them to me and I will handle it.
It would be a great personal favor to me if you could keep track of Millicent a bit longer.
A. Hux
You smirked at the very informal structure of the letter guessing he wrote it in a rush. He included direction to his room in a postscript and you leaned back for a moment in your chair. Stroking Millicent’s soft fur as you thought about how you would compose your reply. “Quick… simple…maybe a little witty. This is me we are talking about.” You note to the cat as if she knew what you were talking about.
Subject – Cat Sitting
I would be happy to keep an eye on Millicent and make sure she keeps those pretty little paws out of trouble.
I will meet you in one hour, General.
(Y/N)
Hitting send once more you went back to your work, occasionally commenting on it to the cat that remained cuddled up in your lap. It was surprising how comforting just having another living thing in your small, dark work space made the time go by faster than you even anticipated. Soon it was time for you to return Millicent to her human.
Cradling her in your arms you walked through the halls of the ship. Stroking her soft, coppery fur occasionally to keep the animal calm. You followed the General’s directions to his quarters and sure enough Hux was walking up at the same time you were. “Miss. (y/l/n), prompt, which I like to see among my crew.” He greeted rather briskly as he entered the code to open the door.
“Well my mother always said ‘if you aren’t five minutes early..’”
Before you could finish Hux cut you off “Then you are are late. My father used to say something similar.” He walked into the very tidy room and motioned for you to follow. “Please come in.”
You mutter thank you as you walk in and wait till the door is safely closed behind you before setting Millicent down on the floor. “Well here you go, back where you belong.” You mutter cheerfully to Millicent as you stand back up the cat rubbing up against you leg purring before lazily trotting over to Hux and brushing up against him in the same manner.
“I apologize for any inconvenience she caused, she got out of my quarters this morning and I tried to catch her… “ Hux seemed uncharacteristically flustered and you tried to hide the smirk growing on your lips. He was far younger than you had expected him to be giving his station and rank within the first order. He was also much more handsome than you expected as well. Not in the way that the smuggler boys you dated as a teenager but in a clean cut and regal sort of manner. You could feel your cheeks flush slightly as you noticed his eyes linger on you.
You quickly shake your head and take a step forward. “General, really it was as far from an inconvenience as you could get.” You replied brightly trying to reassure him that you really had no issue with Millicent stowing away in your office. “I miss my cat, Fred, who is on my brother’s ship going back and forth between Mandalore and Nar Shadda.” You add with a sad smile as glance down at Millicent who was now laying next to Hux as he stood in the middle of the room.
“Are you Mandalorian?” Hux asked quickly as if his interest was instantly peaked.
You shrug before nodding your head slowly. You rarely spoke of the fact that your parents were from Mandalore. “I grew up on Nar Shadda though, my father worker for the cartels in arms trades. My mother ran a brothel.” You admit softly. “My brother is bounty hunter.”
Hux nodded his head slowly. “Why did you join the First Order then? If I may be so bold to ask.”
Again, you shrugged. “When the recruiters came my mom got scared. She said if someone in our family joined them then they would view our family as loyal and leave my little brother alone.” You say softly. “My mother heard a rumor that the First Order was view Mandalorian boys as the most viable candidates for the Stormtrooper training program.”
Hux seemed nodded he head slowly as he shrugged. “My father thought that. Because he believed that Mandalorian’s were genetically superior but the data has shown otherwise.” You were taken aback by the casual way he admitted there was truth behind your mother’s fears.
“Well that’s a comfort to know my baby brother will be safe. He was sent to back to the Mandlorian homeworld to be trained as armorer any how.” Hux chuckled softly and you raised a questioning eyebrow. “What about that is so amusing.”
“Nothing, really I just forget that they still do things like that on Mandalore.” Hux responded back quickly not wanting you to take offense by his misplaced nervous chuckle. “Can I offer you tea or something? As a way of thanking you for finding Millicent?”
You shook your head as he spoke. “No thank you, I really should get back to work. I still have a few more hours left on my shift.” You take a few steps forward and kneel down for a moment to pet Millicent on last time. “You behave young lady.” You smirk as stand up and turn to leave. You glanced over your shoulder for a moment back at Hux and uttered “Have a good evening General.” Before walking out the door as Hux smirked.
“You too, Ensign.”
Once you were back at your workstation, going about the same tasks you do everyday you could help but miss Millicent’s presence slightly. She was a nice distraction from the monotony. As you were lost in your data entry for the newest round of “recruits” for the training program you saw a message pop up from Hux.
New Message from General A. Hux
You couldn’t help but wonder what he had to say to you now that he had his cat back. You let out a little sigh as opened the message and leaned forward to read it.
Subject – Re – Meeting today
Miss (y/l/n),
I am sorry if you took offense to my comments earlier today. They were not meant to have been rude. You did something very kind for me and I repaid you poorly. I am not often the best in social situations. Particularly with beautiful women whom my cat likes.
Let me make amends in way of dinner, whenever would be convenient for you.
A. Hux
As you read the message you could feel your cheeks flush as you read the line ‘Particularly with beautiful women whom my cat likes’ over and over again. You were not expecting anything from Hux, least of all a complement and dinner invitation. You didn’t know how to respond, he was one of the highest ranking  officers in the whole of the First Order and it wasn’t like you could just refuse him. He was far more handsome than you were expecting, “What harm could dinner with the handsome general really cause?” You murmur to yourself as you lean forward and quickly type a response.
Subject – Re-Meeting today
General,
I took no personal offense to any comments made, but I accept your dinner invitation under one condition. Can I perhaps borrow Millicent on occasion? I don’t want to take your pet, but I do miss having a cat around at times. She is a very sweet girl and she seemed to like me. She could come spend time with me while I am working, so perhaps she doesn’t escape again? Would that be agreeable?
I am free most evenings.
(y/n)
Hitting send once more you settled back into the chair and went about the last little bit of work for your day. Just as you were finishing up the last of it there was a new message from Hux and you couldn’t help but smirk and open it quickly.
Subject – Re-Meeting today
(y/n),
I will have to take your proposal up with Millicent but I do not see her refusing. As I said earlier she is generally not fond of most people, could should ask Captain Phasma if you ever cross paths if you do not believe me, yet Millicent seems very fond of you.
Would dinner tonight be too bold? I just rarely have a free evening…
Armitage Hux
“Armitage…” You say with a smirk playing on your lips. So we are on first name basis now. You muse softly as you quickly type your reply.
Subject – Dinner Meeting
Armitage… (I see we are on first name basis now)
I would never be so bold as to ask the rather fearsome Captain Phasma about her encounters with our mutual furry friend. I would be far more afraid of her reaction, plus Mandalorian or not… have you seen me? She would crush me like a droid in a trash compactor. I’m far more of a lover than fighter, for the record.
Dinner tonight would be fine and not a bold request. I understand that you are a very busy man.
Would it be too bold of me to ask for an hour or so to go change before we meet? I am just finishing up my shift now.
(y/n)
You hit send and quickly tidied up your workstation before heading to your quarters. They were much smaller than Hux’s were but just as neat. There were a few more personal items scattered around the room including a Mandalorian helmet that belonged to your great-grandfather. Each of the children of the family had a piece of his armor. You touch the helmet as you set your things on a dresser and pick up a data pad laying on your night stand table to check your messages. Sure enough there was one from Hux.
You smirk as you toss the pad down on the bed before opening the message. As you begin to change from your work uniform to your casual clothes you read his response.
Subject – Dinner Meeting
(y/n)
Phasma is not nearly as fearsome as she appears, I will make an introduction at some point in the future if you are so inclined.
That sounds fine, who am I to tell a woman that she can’t get ready for a date…
Armitage
“A date… this is a date..” You chuckle as you feel your cheeks flush and look down at the rather plain casual clothes you had instinctively put on. “These are not date clothes… do I even own date clothes?” You chuckle in a little bit of panic as you quickly type your latest reply.
Subject – Dinner “Meeting”
Armitage….
A date?
This is a date?
I am not sure that I am prepared for a “date”. Dates require pretty new dresses, make-up, going to the hairdressers… Dates require more time than an hour.
(y/n)
You sent the message with a cheeky smirk playing on your lips before you started to dig through your dresser for something that would be close to appropriate date clothes. The idea that you could actually have unintentionally walked into some sort of romantic entanglement with Hux by returning his lost cat reminded you of the romance holotapes your mother was so found of. “Must tell mom about this mess in my next call home..” You muse out loud as pull out an almost forgotten dress that you packed just in case you ever did end up going on a date. Though you never expect it be with such an important and powerful man.
Your data pad chimed with a new message as you quickly changed clothes once again before picking up the pad and bringing it over to a small vanity so you could try and do something with your hair.
Subject – Dinner “Meeting”
(y/n)
Well, you do make some valid points.
Perhaps is is a practice date? Pre-date negotiations?
Also, I assure you if this “meeting” goes well. I will make sure you are very well taken care of. Whatever you want (save my cat) will be yours.
Are you changed yet?
A.
As you reread the message your heart started to beat faster as you tried to rationalize what Hux meant. “Anything I want?” You muse softly as you brush your hair and look down at the date pad. “What am I getting myself into.”
You quickly reply to his message one last time.
Subject – Dinner “Meeting”
Armitage,
Whatever this is you most certainly have me very curious of your intentions.
I am leaving my quarters now. I will be outside your room shortly.
(y/n)
You hit send as you set your data pad back on your bedside table before walking out of your quarters and making your way back towards Hux’s quarters. Your hand hovers over the buzzer for a moment as you take a long breath to steady yourself before you rung the bell. It was like Hux must have been perched waiting for you. It was barely a moment before the door hissed open and Hux stood before you. His hair was slightly messier than before, a few stray strands of hair falling across his forehead, his jacket gone, the top button of his shirt unbuttoned and a small smile playing on his lips. “You look lovely, (y/n), even without a new dress.” He commented slyly was you walked in trying to hide your smirk.
“Thank you,” You mutter softly as you turn around and face him.
Hux’s eyes wondered up and down your body admiring the fit of the dress on your frame. “Shall we?” He ask as he motioned towards a table with a bottle of wine and two glasses and you took  a deep breath. It was going to be an interesting night.

The Future – Poe/Reader

Summery – One Shot – Poe Dameron/Solo!Wife! Reader – Newly married, Poe comes back from a mission to learn some surprising news from his wife.

A/N: Not beta read, I went through it but I have been known to miss things.  I wanted to try a slightly different style to my other imagines just to you know… try something a bit different I won’t probably continue with it but it was kinda a nice little challenge.

Also on AO3: Here

Poe wanted to get home. He wanted to see his new wife, it had been well over a week since he left on his latest mission. It didn’t seem like a long time in the grand scheme of things but to Poe, being away from his wife this long was like being away from her for a lifetime. He quickly big is squad goodnight promising to be at the debriefing bright and early the next morning but he needed to get home.

His home wasn’t very far from the base, within reasonable walking distance. The perks of being married to a General’s daughter he would often muse when he would hear others talk about how they had to travel quite a distance to their homes. As he walked through the front door of their comfortable little home Poe could smell something delicious cooking and the sound of his wife’s voice chatting away with her mother in the kitchen.

A smirk grew on his lips as he dropped his gear by the door and slowly started to make his way into the kitchen taking his time to appreciate the sounds and smells of home. His wife’s laughter echoed through the home and it warmed his heart. He paused just outside of either woman’s view and watched as she leaned forward and clasped hands with her mother as they spoke. She seemed genuinely happy and he hadn’t seen her that happy in quite a long time.

After waiting several minutes Poe finally walked in with a broad smile on his face and his arms out as his wife raced into them exclaiming, “Poe, oh thank the maker…” She exclaimed happily as her arms slipped around his neck as she leaned in their lips meeting in a passionate embrace.

Breaking the kiss with a smirk Poe cupped his wife’s cheek as he rested his forehead against her’s. “I always come back baby… always..” He mutters softly. His wife smirks and nodded her head though she knew that even the best pilot could not come back from a mission. Poe turned his attention to his mother in law as he hand slipped around his young wife’s waist. “General…” He gave her a little nod and Leia chuckled softly.

“You married my daughter, Poe,” Leia said with a smirk playing on her lips as she picked up her nearby tea cup and held it for a moment as she continued. “You don’t have to keep the formality up for my sake.” Poe and his wife laughed softly as the younger woman slipped away from her husband’s touch to go back to attending the food that was simmering away on the stove.

Poe moved over to Leia and put an arm around her shoulder before giving her a quick peck on the cheek. “So mom?” Poe laughed as Leia started to chuckle lowly herself as she swiveled the chair around so she could face him. Her hand reached up and patted Poe’s cheek.

“Leia will do just fine…” She replied with a smile and Poe gave her a little nod of acknowledgement. “So I take it the mission went well?” She asked as Poe sat down on the other stool that was next to Leia.

“Mom…” The younger woman scolds from her position at the stove. “One meal, no resistance or war effort talk please…” She sounded frustrated but not upset. Her tone and expression made both Poe and Leia smirk at each other before nodding.

“We aren’t eating yet, (y/n).” Poe noted with a smirk which caused his young wife to throw a dish towel in his direction. Leia stifled her laugh behind her hand. Poe snatched the towel up and tossed it back at his wife as he laughed. “Next time say… One night… one day… be specific sweetheart.” Poe settled back on the stool as he watched his wife try not laugh as she pretended to be far more upset than she was.

Leia leaned over and whispered, “Don’t tease her too much. (y/n) has been planning this dinner for the last few days. Apparently she has some important news to tell us both.” Poe raised a questioning eyebrow as he leaned forward on the counter and looked at Leia wanting more information. “I haven’t a clue what the news is, I swear.”

Poe shrugged and glanced up at his wife who pulled some plates out of one of cabinets before she dished out the fairly humble meal and presented two plates to her mother and husband with smile. “Eat…”

The discussion over dinner was pleasant and fairly begin. Mostly just talking about the improvements that the young couple were making to their home and the younger woman was concerned where BB-8 was. “He is spending the night on base to get looked over by a tech…” Poe informed his wife as he stood up and began clearing the now empty plates from the counter where they had sat to eat.

“I feel like my child is gone.” She said as she glanced back at Poe with a sad look on her face. “I love that little droid…” Poe walked up behind his wife and wrapped his arms around her before kissing her cheek.

“Our little buddy will be just fine, don’t you worry one bit… it’s just a check up.” He rested his head on her shoulder watching as Leia leaned forward and rested her arms on the counter, folding her hands.

“So, (y/n), are you going to tell us what this news is?” Her mother was growing impatient and the younger woman smirked as she looked back at Poe for a moment.

She chewed on her bottom lip for a moment as she shifted nervously in her seat. Poe looked down at his wife with a questioned glance and she let out a long sigh. “So, I haven’t been feeling great the last few weeks. Both of you know this…” Both Poe and Leia nodded as she took a long deep breath once more trying to calm herself. Her face was filled with nervous fear as she looked down at her hands. “I went to see the doc and well…” She paused for a moment and glanced back at Poe who looked quite concerned.  “I’m pregnant…” Poe’s arms slipped away from her as he stumbled back a few steps in slight shock.

Leia smiled brightly as she brought her hands to her mouth to hide her own excitement. Poe was just shocked. A week of very little sleep left him struggling to process what his wife had just told him. They had talked about having children one day, after the First Order was finished. Poe looked up from the floor at his wife who had a helpless look painted across her face. “A baby?” He questioned softly. “Our baby…”

“Our baby..” She repeated slowly with a little nod.

Poe ran his hands through his hair and glanced at Leia who still had a small smile playing on her lips. “You knew?” Poe questioned softly still trying to come to grips with the notion of being someone’s father.

Leia shrugged and chuckled dismissively. “I had my suspicions.” Leia confessed as she stood and up and slowly walked over to her daughter. She wrapped her arms around her youngest child and kissed her temple. “It wasn’t like when I just knew about you and your brother…” Leia’s tone held so much sadness at the mention of her other child. “But I could sense something was going on with my baby..” Leia glanced over at Poe who stood still with a look of shock painted over his face. “Poe…” Leia started trying to get his attention. “Breathe…” Leia tried not to be too amused by Poe’s stunned state. It was rare that he was at a loss for words.

Poe lifted his gaze as he spoke, “Yeah…” He said as binked slowly and shook his head trying to bring himself out of his own head.

Leia hugged her daughter once more before walking over to Poe and took his hand giving it a light squeeze before she turned back to her daughter. “You two have things to discuss. I will see you both tomorrow.” Her voice was calm as let go of Poe’s hand and started to gather her things. As she was about to walk out with the couple still in silence Leia paused and smiled softly. “A baby is a happy thing… especially during times like this. We need to hold on to every bit of hope we find… and baby is nothing but hope for a better future. Be happy… both of you.”

After Leia left the silence remained. Poe stood for a few moments longer leaning against the counter as he searched for words but could find none. His wife sat at the counter, her hands folded in her lap looking at him out of the corner of her eye but for the most part looking at her hands. The tension hung in the air like an ominous cloud. “I am going get cleaned up..” Poe finally spoke as he went to walk out of the room but his wife jumped up off her stool and moved to block his path.

“You don’t have anything to say?” She asked angrily as she stood with her hands crossed in front of her chest and watched as Poe’s jaw tensed as he tilted his head to one side.

He lifted his hand and opened his mouth to speak but stopped himself short for a moment as he tried to gather his thoughts. Taking a deep breath he lowered his hand and began. “What do you want me to say?” He sounded frustrated and far from happy. “We are in the middle of war…I am gone all the time because I am off risking my neck to try and make this galaxy a better place. You… You… You were going to be a fucking Jedi…till your brother lost his fucking mind because he was pulled to the dark side by some evil asshole who got inside his head from the time he was a baby. A baby, (y/n) you told me this yourself. Our kid will probably be hunted by the same evil the turned your brother.. Because you are Darth Vader’s grandchild and my kid is going to share the same blood as him…and I can’t protect my kid from that kind of evil. Yeah darling, I have a hell of a lot to say.” Poe threw his hands up in frustration as his wife stood, her face expressionless as he continued. “It’s not that I am not happy we are having a baby… because honestly, (y/n) part of me is so happy but this bigger part of me is like we can’t have a baby… not now.”

“It’s not like we planned to get pregnant but if we are laying everything out on the table,” His wife was a beautiful woman, most of the time she was one of the kindest souls you could ever meet. She had so much of her mother’s kindness and even temper, but in the rare moments she showed her rage the look she would get in her eyes was unnerving. “You didn’t try not to get me pregnant all that hard after we got married. It was like as soon as the vows were said you thought we were granted some instant birth control.” Her voice grew more angry as she spoke, her eyes a light with rage.

Poe knew what she had said was true, he wasn’t as careful as they once had been. He had figured the small amount of risk wasn’t going to end in the result it had. Running his hand through his messy dark curls Poe looked up at his wife. “I really didn’t think you would get pregnant… not so quickly. I mean… we hadn’t used protection before and you didn’t end up pregnant then.” His voice was quiet and calmer than it had been just a few moments before. He reached out and took his young wife’s hand and squeezed her hand to get her to look at him. “What are we going to do?”

The young woman shook her head and shrugged. “What can we do?” She paused for a moment and the couple shared a quite glance as they both began to calm down.

“I don’t know..” Poe murmured softly as his hand slipped away from her’s. His dark eyes darted to the floor. “Is everything okay…. With the baby?” He asked softly after a few more moments of silence.

His wife gave a little half-hearted smile as she nodded her head. “Yeah… I mean… I only had the one appointment so far.” She looked up at Poe as she reached out to him. “I have another appointment to meet a midwife next week, if you want to come.”

Poe took her hand and smiled softly. “Of course I want to come.” He started as he took another step closer, his free hand rested on his wife’s waist. “Just because I am worried about what the future holds doesn’t mean I am not going to be there for everything, (y/n)… this is still our baby…” They shared a warm glance as Poe’s free hand trailed across her waist and over her stomach as Poe smirked. “My kid…” He mumbled and she smiled at him.

“Do you want a boy or girl?” Her voice was soft as she asked her question.

Poe shrugged as he trailed his fingers across her stomach. “I guess I always thought we would have a girl first… I don’t know why.” Poe lifted his gaze and smiled as he saw the small grin on his wife’s face. “Everytime I have thought about us having kids… it was always a little girl…”

“Me too..” She leaned in and they shared a sweet kiss before she pulled back laughing and shoved Poe back playfully. “You smell like a dead bantha!” She exclaimed as she clasped her hand over her mouth and nose.

“Oh it is not that bad…” Poe said with a laugh as he tried to wrap his arms around his wife but she wiggled out of his grasp with a joyful laugh and little yelp. “Oh come on baby… you know you love it.” He teased as he began to chase her through their modest home as they played a playful game of cat and mouse till finally Poe managed to slip his arms around her waist and capture her as she laughed loudly as she struggled to break free. “Oh no… I got you now…”

“Poe… go shower!” She laughed as she tried to peel his hands from around her waist but Poe only tightened his grip and pulled her back against him. His lips pressed against her neck as he laughed. “Poe!” She exclaimed once more and Poe finally let her go with a small chuckle.

“Alright… I’ll go..” He conceded before he leaned in and gave her one more quick kiss before they went their separate ways. Poe to the master bathroom of their bedroom and his wife off into the living room to relax.

After Poe cleaned himself up and got dressed in some comfortable clothes before wandering through the house looking for his wife. He had assumed she was in the kitchen cleaning up dinner but he found all the dishes still unwashed in the sink, food left out on the stove. He furrowed his brow and chuckled softly as he turned around and made his way into the living room.

Sure enough, there she was. Sprawled out across the couch, wrapped up in a old, well loved blanket. “Poor tired mama…” Poe mumbled softly as he sat down on the edge of the couch. His hand rested on her thigh as a small smile played on his lips. His touch nudged her from her slumber, her hands moving up to her eyes quickly to rub the sleep from them as she let out long yawn. “I wasn’t that long in the shower…” Poe teased.

“I am sorry, creating life is exhausting apparently…” She mumbled with a grumpy pout as she stretched her arms above her head before sitting up slowly.

Poe patted her thigh before he let out a little sigh before he began to speak. “Listen..” He started as he scooted a little close to his wife. “I am happy about this baby, deep down I am. (y/n), you know that. Right?” She gave him a quick nod for an answer before he continued. “This may not be the right time… but it wasn’t really the right time when our parents had us. If people waited for just the right moment to have kids, I doubt anyone would ever have kids.” Poe watched as a smile grew across his wife’s lips as he continued. “Your mom was right..”

“As she is ninety nine percent of the time, but don’t let her know I ever admitted that.” She laughed and Poe couldn’t help but join her for a moment before he squeezed her thigh gently trying to get her attention once more.

“Hey…” Poe said quickly. “I’m serious… what she said about babies being nothing but hope for a better future…” He reached out and took her hand in his and looked deep into her eyes. “Our kid is gonna bring a lot of hope to the people who care about us and that’s a good thing.” Poe smirked deviously before adding. “Plus, when I tell the squad that we are having a baby… I won’t have to buy a drink at the bar for at least a week. When the baby is born.. .well, my love, I am so sorry in advance.”

His wife pulled her hands away and clasped them over her mouth to keep herself from laugh as she leaned forward. “The funnest part is, it is so going to happen.” She blurted out between stifled laughter.

Poe had a slightly smug smirk on he lips as he nodded his head settling back on the couch motioning for his wife to come closer. “I said I was sorry…” He pointed as she nestled in next to him draping the blanket over both of them as they gazed out the window. “It’s going to be alright, (y/n), one way or another…we will figure it all out.”

It’s a Date – Part 2 – Hux/Reader

Hux/Reader – meet cute moment/first date

Summary  – Millicent gets out of Hux’s room and makes her way to your station and you decide it might be best to return the General’s cat.

PART 1

AO3 LINK

A/N: This is much shorter than the first part but have no fear, I am going to continue this pairing of Hux and our little random Mandalorian reader with connections to the galactic underworld with at least two sequels. One called – Canto Bight – which obviously takes place on Canto Bight a few months after this, a little mission mixed with pleasure, maybe some smut (who I am kidding there will be smut). I am also going to play with a little fan theory that one of my favorite SW podcasts Girls With Sabers (which you should go on youtube and watch all their videos right now) did a video on about Hux maybe having a half sister. This will be probably a 3 parter as I have it planned, maybe longer because this is me and I am known to just write too much. The other is – Never Make a Mandalorian Woman Angry – which really is going to be a little more light hearted than it sounds. This one will definitely be a one-shot. I have a few other ideas floating around with these two. They are cute and as we see Hux may have met his match. Plus… Millicent likes her. That means everything, because as we all know the real ruler of the galaxy is Millicent… <.< or is that just me. LOL

As you settled down together at the table and began to enjoy the rather nice wine, you decided to break the awkward silence. Hux had been flirty and charming over the messages but in person you could tell that he was little nervous. “When you said this was a date, I was a little shocked.” You started nervously.

As soon as you spoke Hux’s gaze was on you, his attention fixated on your every word. As soon as you finished he quickly asked, “Why? It’s because you are not attracted to me?” He asked sharply.

You quickly shake you head. “No, not at all… I mean.. Yes… I mean no.” You were flustered and felt like perhaps you had just put your foot in your mouth. Your eyes glanced up at Hux who looked as flustered as you were. “I don’t date much, no one usually notices me… actually no one ever notices me.” You blurt out in a nervous moment trying to fix your previous blunder.

Peeking up through your long eyelashes you see Hux settle back in his chair. “I can’t see how anyone couldn’t notice you… you are beautiful.” He confessed softly as he picked up his glass of wine and downs a rather large sip as if he were trying to gain some courage he otherwise lacked. “I don’t just ask women to dinner all the time.. I actually never do.”

“Then why ask me?” you ask quickly and nervously.

“Millicent liked you.” he said with a small shrug. “When I saw you walking up with her in your arms, I had never seen something so beautiful.” He mumbled. You raised a questioning eyebrow not quite understanding what he meant, not because you couldn’t hear him but because you couldn’t fathom he actual meant what he was saying. “You.. you are beautiful… and you made me laugh with those messages. Actually laugh.” Hux said as if that was something that hadn’t happened in many years. Which, for him it hadn’t.

You reached across the small table and place your hand over his. “That’s the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me.”

“You must have been around a bunch of blind fools… but your welcome.” As he lifted his head to speak your eyes met and a shiver ran down your spine. Those stormy green eyes burned into your soul and made your heart race.

After the unintental hiccup, and with a couple more glasses of wine and the addition of food things started to move along much smoother. The conversation was now rolling along at a comfortable pace and it was like you had known Hux all your life. Neither of you lived idyllic childhoods, each with their complications. Yet they shaped the people you had become.

“So wait, your father actually knew Darth Maul?” Hux asked as he leaned forward quite curious about any tale you had of the legendary former Sith Lord.

You nod as you lean forward with a bright smile spread across your face. “When my father was working for my grandfather as a teenager during the clone wars… they used to sell weapons and mandalorian armor to the Maul and the Crimson Dawn.” You started. “My dad told me all about the one time he actually had to handle the deliver of weapons to Maul himself. He said he had never in all his days felt such evil and he told me in that moment he knew that the Elders were right. Jedi… Sith… they were all evil.” Your eyes were cast down to the table as you finished unsure of how Hux would take what you said.

“I always admired the Mandalorian’s abhorrence of force users” He surprised you with his he soft admission. The corners of your mouth turned upwards in a small smirk. For someone who worked so closely with such a powerful force user as Kylo Ren, you were shocked that Hux shared your distaste for their mystic ways. “Did your father know Boba Fett?” Hux seemed rather curious about your family’s underworld connections, as most people were when they learned of them. The few friends you had made since joining the First Order were just as fascinated as Hux. Though part of you couldn’t help but  question his motives as you slowly nodded your head.

“Yeah, my father knew him well.” You murmur as your reach for your glass of wine. “He was actually a decent enough guy… he used to bring me and my older brother sweets when he would come do deals with my father.” Hux looked puzzled by your little story.

“I thought Fett was dead.”

“No.” You said softly as you shook your head. “He is very much alive last I knew.” Hux against seemed shocked by your insider knowledge and he looked like a very excited child.

Hux leaned forward and grabbed your wrist. “How much do you know about the general workings of the underworld? I am talking arms dealers, spice smugglers… slave traders…gang leaders…everything.” You laugh nervously as you gaze deep into his eyes. It was an uncomfortable question. You knew quite a bit but you also knew that you couldn’t just go telling anyone the information you knew. The stories you told were never of consequence and were the type of stories people told at parties to try and impress people. Which is what you were trying to do with Hux but you had dug  yourself into a hold you were going to climb out of by telling Hux what you knew.

“I am the daughter of the second largest arms dealer on Nar Shadda, my mother runs one of the best brothels on the moon and last time I checked I was still on a first name basis with some of the Hutts… what do you want to know?” You smirked. You tried for the last year to just keep your head down but the wine made you bold. There was part of you that really wanted to impress Hux and this seemed like the best way to do it.

Hux tutted softly and sighed. “They assigned you to data entry… when we had an in with the Hutt Cartel right under our noses…” He let go of your wrist and leaned back in his chair. He peered at Millicent who was curled up at your feet and laughed. “I should have you get out more often if you are going to bring me beautiful and valuable women Millie…”  Hux turned his gaze back to you. “How many languages do you speak?”

“Six.. not including basic…”

“Kriff” Hux cursed as he shook his head in disbelief. “You can not keep working in data entry… your talents are being absolutely wasted there. I won’t allow it.” He declared and you laughed nervously.

“You know I actually don’t mind my job…” You protested softly but Hux shook his head as he put his hand up. He didn’t want to hear any of your protests, he very obviously had plans for you that had nothing do with your typing skills.

“(y/n), darling girl… let me let you in a small secret.” You liked this Hux, the Hux of the messages, the Hux after he had a few glasses of wine and relaxed. “When the Empire was still strong they had the underworld, well the larger players, in their pockets. This has been the one area we can’t seem to crack.” The way Hux spoke seemed like he genuinely needed your help. The way he had called you ‘darling girl’ also lingered in your mind.

You let out a long sigh. “What if I said no?” Hux instantly got a pained look on his face at the meer notion that you would. You quickly reached your hand across that table. “I am not saying I am going to but really Armitage, do I have much choice now that you know.” Hux shrugged but you knew that you really had no choice.

“It would mean you would work directly with me, every day…” He started slowly as he reached his hand out and laid it over yours. “We can even take lunch in here every day so you can spend time with Millicent…” He was trying really hard to make you want this. “You will need all sorts of beautiful, elegant, dresses for when I take you to Canto Brite… if you say yes that is.” He had you at time with Millicent but the rest was all really lovely perks you had never imagined. “Say yes..”

Slowly you started to nod you head and Hux smiled brightly. When he smiled it was such a rare thing that it was magnetic. His eyes lit up and you couldn’t help but smile back at him. “Fine… only because we are going to share custody of Millicent…” You tease and Hux started to laugh.

“I said nothing of the sort. I said lunches with Millicent.” Hux protested and you pulled your hand back before standing up. You walked around the table and stood next to Hux, your hand on your hip looking down at him. He leaned back in his chair, green eyes dancing with mischief as you smirked down at him. “This is a first date… we can’t already be talking custody arrangements for my cat… I was hoping I would at least get to take you to bed before that happened.” You roll your eyes as Hux speaks and he laughs nervously as he reaches out and places a hand on your waist. “I’m joking, I swear.”

Your stern look slowly faded and you smiled down at him again. “Listen just because I said Phasma could crush me doesn’t mean I couldn’t probably kick your ass if really wanted to.” You teased and Hux shook his head for a moment before laughing.

“No I don’t doubt that at all, though I am very good with a blaster.” His words were loaded with a double meaning that made your cheeks flushed again as your shifted your weight.

Your tongue darts across your bottom lip as you look down at Hux rather amused. “But the real question is Armitage..” You say softly as you lean in. “Are you too quick to pull the trigger?” You ask breathlessly as your lips brush against his ear. You can see his whole body stiffen up and for once he was the one who grew flush. You pulled back quickly and take a breath because you were even started to get yourself worked up. Between the long time since you had been with anyone and the wine you were forgetting this was really only a first date. “I should go…”

Hux nodded slowly though you could tell there was part of him that very obviously want you to stay. “Report to my office in the morning, 0900, we will discuss my idea on how to mix securing some valuable allies and maybe a little pleasure.” You smiled softly down at him once more before leaning in. You hand brushing his cheek as you placed a tender kiss on his lips. He seemed shocked for a moment at first but quickly began kissing you back. He was tentative and surprisingly tender as his hand barely grazed your cheek as you pulled back.

“I will see you in the morning Armitage…” You mumbled softly as he nodded standing up before he walked you to the door, Millicent in tow. He picked her up for your to say a proper goodnight. “Nini Millie… take good care of your daddy… I kinda like him.” You say as if Hux wasn’t listening to every work and the animal actually understood. Millicent purred as you scratched her behind her ear.

Hux opened the door and you stepped out. “Goodnight, (y/n), I will see you in the morning.”

+Next Day+

At 0845 you walked up to the door of Hux’s office, it was where he took most of his meeting though from your understanding from last night he prefered to spend much of his time on the bridge. You took a deep breath and smoothed your skirt as ready yourself to start this new position that Hux said you were perfectly suited for. In the light of day and with out the haze of the alcohol you were regretting telling Hux so much about your family’s connections. You had left all that information off your enlistment forms when you join up for a reason because you just wanted to keep your head down.

That’s gone all kinds of out the window now. You groan internally as take one last deep breath and turned to buzz the com pad. Hux must have known it was her because the door opened right away and he stood before her a small smirk playing on his lips. “Early.. So proud of my girl..” Hux said in low tone as he stepped aside to allow you to walk in. “Did you sleep well (y/n)?” He asked rather sweetly as he walked back to his desk and sat down.

“Alright I guess..” You murmured as you followed Hux back to his desk. He gestured to take as seat and you did, just not where he was expecting. You walked around his desk, your hand trailed across the smooth metal as you stood next to him. Hux pushed his chair back allowing you to sit down in his lap.

He seemed amused as he slipped his arms around you and picked up a data pad resting on his desk. “Read this…” He instructed as you took it from his hands. As you started to read through what ended up being some kind of intelligence report from someone on the inside of a codebreakers operation out of the leisure oasis Canto Bight, Hux leaned forward and rested his head on your shoulder. Seeing him out of the corner of your eye momentarily distracted you from your reading and made you smirk.

Once you finished, you set the data pad back down on the desk. Hux wrapped his arms around your waist and waited for you to speak. “So you have someone on the inside… of this guy’s crew…” You questioned softly and Hux nodded. “Well I can tell you this much. He has never done business on Nar Shadda, doubt he does business with the Hutts. They never travel that far out for business.” Hux let out a disappointed groan as he leaned back in the chair and you shifted position slightly. “Don’t be disappointed in me. Be disappointed in the fact the all powerful slug people kriffing hate lightspeed travel and pretty much have all the could want or need on Nal Hutta.”

Hux sighed and brought his hand up to rub his temples. “I was really hoping we could just slide you in the operation we already have in place and you could bring the Hutts into the fold.” He shook his head slightly disappointed in his own foolish notion hearing it out loud. Seeing the look of frustration and disappointment cross Hux’s face made you feel horrible.

You leaned forward and picked up the pad and began scrolling through the report. “You know…” You started softly not getting Hux’s attention at first. “I won’t be able to get a meeting with this guy… but my brother… my brother absolutely could.” Hux started listing again. “He has a reputation, while I think that it will take a lot of credits to get him to stop his current business… and I mean a lot of credits. He would do this for me, if I ask him.”

Hux’s arms wrapped tightly around your waist as he pulled you back against him. “Will you? Please.” You smirk as you slowly nod and Hux let out a sigh of relief. “Thank you.”

“I’ll even get ahold of my dad, no promises but I am sure he can find something out at his weekly Sabacc game with the Hutt under bosses.” You add with a smirk. Hux seemed pleased beyond his abilities to express, he smiled and leaned in to kiss you. Hesitating for a moment.

“You are incredible, (y/n), you know that…” Hux leaned in a kissed you tenderly, his hands running up your back as he pulled you deeper into the kid. You knew that this relationship was going to be complicated due to Hux’s station and the active war effort, but there was something in you that knew that no matter what it was going to worth it.
